1. Matt Bryant vs. NO
Every couple of weeks, Matt Bryant misses two field goals in a game, I think just to keep fantasy owners on their toes. On behalf of all Bryant-owners I'd like to take the opportunity to say "quit it." You still can't argue with the opportunities that the Falcons are giving him. In their last six games Bryant has attempted 17 field goals, that's more attempts in half a season that Rian Lindell of the Bills has had all year. The Saints have given up a lot of points this season, but mostly from the touchdowns, so look for more than a couple PATs this weekend and an occasional field goal.
2. Lawrence Tynes at WAS
Lawrence Tynes continues to lead the NFL in points as he's converted 29 field goals this season. For those of you scoring at home, that averages out to just under three field goals a game, so including Tynes in your lineup is a no-brainer. The Redskins have allowed multiple field goals in five of their last six games, so we see Tynes' reign atop the kickers list to continue this week.
3. Phil Dawson at OAK
Of all of the kickers to attempt at least 20 field goals this season, Phil Dawson is the only one who has yet to miss a kick. That being said, just like Pat Summerall did to the Vikings' Gary Andersen in the 1998 NFC Championship, Dawson will miss a game-winner this weekend. Before he misses the game winner, he still gets a full 60 minutes against the second-easiest team for kickers to face as the Raiders have allowed 10 points per game to opposing placekickers.
4. Stephen Gostkowski at MIA
Stephen Gostkowski is second in points among NFL kickers, but is eighth in the league in made field goals. As you may have surmised, he's leading the NFL in extra points by nine! That includes the 15 PATs he's made in just the last two weeks. Last season the Pats scored 65 points against the Dolphins in two games, and this year's version of the ‘Fins isn't much better. Miami has allowed 12 field goal attempts in the last four weeks, that includes last week in which the Seahawks did not line up for a kick at all.
5. Shayne Graham at TEN
While it's fair to note that Shayne Graham has missed three field goals in the last two weeks, it's also fair to mention that he's made five field goals and eight PATs. He had only missed two kicks in the prior nine games, so I'm not really worried about this being an ongoing problem. This week he faces a Titans team that has allowed double digit points to a kicker in six games this season.
6. Justin Tucker vs. PIT
Two weeks ago in Pittsburgh, Justin Tucker missed his only field goal of the season. This week at home he hopes to keep his streak of three straight games with multiple made field goals going. The Steelers have been allowing field goal attempts at an alarming rate as of late. Six of the last seven kickers who have faced Pittsburgh have made two or more field goals.
7. Dan Bailey vs. PHI
One thing about the Cowboys that Dan Bailey has going for him is that they're finally scoring points, or getting him into position to boot a few through the uprights. Bailey has gone three for three on field goals in each of the last two weeks and has booted nine PATs in the last three games. This week he hosts a Philly team that has only given up one field goal attempt in each of the last four weeks, but have givne up an average of four PATs over the last four weeks.
8. Rian Lindell vs. JAC
Hey, at the top of this article we mentioned Rian Lindell in a somewhat negative light, but that wasn't meant to hurt his feelings. Sorry Rian. We were just pointing out that you had only had 16 field goal attempts on the season, which kind of sucks for you. The good thing for Lindell is that he gets Jacksonville this week at the Ralph. The Jags have given up no fewer than two field goal attempts in any game this season, and each of the last two kickers to face Jacksonville each attempted five field goals.
9. Adam Vinatieri at DET
Remember when Adam Vinatieri kicked that satellite out of orbit? That was a good one. That likely will not be happening this week as Ford Field has a fixed roof, but there's a few things that need mentioning in this matchup. Vinatieri has attempted two or more field goals in five straight games and seven of his last eight. On the other side, Detroit has allowed three or more field goal attempts in seven of the last nine games.
10. Alex Henery at DAL
The one player that has not quit on the Eagles roster may be Alex Henery. The second-year kicker has made 20 straight field goals including three last week against Carolina. Taking kicks in the mostly enclosed Dallas Cowboys stadium this week will be a nice change from the windy conditions in Philly. The Cowboys have allowed nine or more points to opposing kickers in four of the last five games, they come in different ways every week though.
11. Nick Novak vs. CIN
12. Robbie Gould vs. SEA
13. Jay Feely at NYJ
14. Ryan Succop vs. CAR
15. Blair Walsh at GB
