Studs:
Matt Schaub 527 yards passing 5 TD
Schaub threw as many touchdowns in his game against Jacksonville than he did
his last three contests combined. His 527 yards were a season high. Up until
Sunday, Schaub hadn't reached 300 yards passing in any game.
Andre Johnson 14 rec 273 yards TD
You had to see this one coming right? Schaub had a career day and Johnson was
the main beneficiary. Outside of a four catch performance in the rain and wind
in Chicago in week 10, Johnson has patched together four straight weeks of
eight catches or more.
Dez Bryant 12 rec 145 yards TD
Dez finally showed up. He piled as many catches Sunday than he had combined since
week six. For all you math majors, that is five games worth of data. In week
six, Bryant caught 13 balls, then followed it up with a two catch stinker
against Carolina the next week. He's got the Redskins on Thanksgiving this week
to try to reverse that trend.
Robert Griffin 200 yards passing 4 TD 0 84 yards rushing
Just like Charch predicted, Griffin was back to his old ways Sunday with
another grand performance. The rookie is proving he can do it all completing
14-of-15 passes.
Justin Blackmon 7 rec 236 yards TD
With all the hype surrounding Blackmon, it was only a matter of time before he
broke out. Unfortunately for his fantasy value, he is started in only around 25
percent of leagues. Up until yesterday he produced 250 yards of receiving
yards. It is the fantasy equivalent of driving a junker of a car, filling it
with gas, and doubling the value.
Rob Gronkowski 7 rec 137 yards 2 TD
Here's the good news for Gronk owners. His performance Sunday most likely
propelled you to fantasy victory. Now, on to the bad news. He broke his left
forearm late in the game and will sit at least four weeks. At best, he could be
back for week 16 which is championship week, but will most likely be a fantasy
non-factor the rest of the way.
Duds:
Arian Foster 77 yards rushing
It is crazy how dominating Foster has been. The most consistent back in fantasy
football had either topped 100 yards in 18 of his last 19 regular season games
dating back to last season. That is what makes his 77 yard performance such a
shot to the gut. To make matters worse, the Texans scored 43 points against a
so-so Jacksonville defense.
Steven Ridley 28 yards rushing TD
Yes, Ridley scored, but his 28 pedestrian yards on 13 carries were pathetic.
With a #3 ranking this week, Ridley didn't deliver even as the Pats were in
blow out mode against the Colts.
Ray Rice 40 yards rushing
The matchup with Pittsburgh was a tough one. We were however looking for
something a little north of two yards per carry. The only news worse than the
Hostess bankruptcy this week was Rice's 20 carry performance on Sunday night.
Julio Jones 33 yard receiving
The signs were all there and we were all warned that Jones would have a down
week…and he did. Roddy White has become Matt Ryan's favorite target and Jones
owners are, well…Jonseing for a better performance.
Matt Ryan 301 yards passing 5 INT
Ryan completed 28 passes Sunday, well 33 if you count the interceptions. His
yardage was okay as he topped 300 yards for the third straight week and fifth
this season. He failed to throw a touchdown for the second time in three weeks
which is troubling at best.
