Hopes at playoffs are dwindling

As a fantasy owner, sometimes all you can do is just shake your head and chuckle. There is no analysis that can make you feel any better. I just put up a season high in points, and flippin' lost. To make things worse, I would have beaten every other team in our league. The bottom line was, I needed a win last week. A win would have put me even at 3-3 through six weeks and as it stands now, I am 2-4 and looking up at four teams in my division. I've got seven weeks to try to figure out how to make the playoffs.

Where to improve:

In breaking down my roster, I still really like the makeup of my team. I just can't get anyone to put up consistent weeks.

Three weeks ago, I traded Andy Dalton and Marques Colston for Larry Fitzgerald and James Jones. At the time, I hadn't gotten anything from my receivers, Colston and Dez Bryant so trading for Fitz made sense. Jones has turned out to be the difference maker, scoring two touchdowns in each game providing fantasy excellence.

From a quarterback perspective, I now have Christian Ponder and Alex Smith. Not exactly fantasy elite in a league that awards six points for a passing touchdown.

My running backs have been inconsistent. Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch have only scored four combined touchdowns. My bench includes Michael Bush who has scored three.

Run at the playoffs:

So, I have seven weeks to get to the spot. My next three weeks are very winnable as my opponents have a combined 7-11 record. Get to 5-4 and play the last four weeks and see what happens.
