Donnie Avery

Donnie Avery

Week Seven Add: Donnie Avery has been mentioned before, but his case is getting stronger the more I see the Colts. Indy has almost no interest in running the ball. Andrew Luck has topped 44 passes in four of five games. Last week, Colt runners only got 15 carries. Meanwhile, Reggie Wayne is on pace for his strongest season ever, and defenses are forced to roll coverage his way. As a result, Avery sees a lot of favorable matchups, and Luck knows it. Avery was targeted 12 times last week, and he's averaging almost 10 (!) targets per game. He's the 18th most-targeted player. He's worth a bid of $5.

Week Three Add: Austin Collie's concussion situation looks bad. Every week, they hope he'll be cleared to play, and every week Collie isn't ready. And, once he's back, is he a starter anymore? And, for that matter, how long until he gets his next concussion? Donnie Avery, starting in Collie's place, scored in week one, and topped 100 yards in week two while leading the team in targets and receptions. He's increasingly looking like a serviceable plug-in. I'd bid $5 on him.
