The quarterback, who last year was considered a top five pick overall in most drafts continued his injury prone career and continues to slide down most draft boards.
Last season, I was the yang to the ying. I couldn't shout loud enough not to take the Eagles signal caller. I was proved right on many levels. His stats slid tremendously including his rushing touchdowns which for fantasy owners is the main reason you would draft Vick that high in the first place.
In 2010, Vick ran for nine touchdowns and 676 yards. Both numbers provide solid fantasy value and warrant a top five selection. The only problem was Vick played in only 12 games. That does not equate to fantasy victory, it means fantasy disaster. He rewarded his owners with one rushing touchdown in 13 games proving once again that his durability is the biggest question mark. It is worth noting, that in 2010 he passed for a career high 21 touchdowns and only six interceptions. His numbers returned to a more pedestrian type feel last year as he only threw 18 touchdowns while throwing 14 interceptions.
It isn't a matter of if Vick will get hurt, it is a matter of when and by the looks of things, he isn't wasting any time getting there this season. He is still the sixth quarterback off the board in most mock drafts and has an ADP of a fourth round pick. For owners who follow things closely, that number will surely drop.
Ryan Mathews saw his ADP fall from 7th pick in the first round to a late pick in the second round a fate surely similar awaits Vick. My hard line stance on Vick actually softened this season until now. Michael Vick might as well have the plague. He will not find his way anywhere near my rosters.
