Fantasy Draft: Mock 2.0

Fantasy Draft: Mock 2.0

Let the madness begin. I took part in day one of mock madness. I was looking at two things in this Mock. First, I want value at each spot, second, I want to roll the dice on a couple of players.

June 26 Mock Draft: 10 Teams 15 Rounds (Pick #4)

1. Ray Rice (#2 RB)
2. Matthew Stafford (#5 QB)
3. Greg Jennings (#4 WR)
4. Trent Richardson (#8 RB)
5. Dez Bryant (#17 WR)
6. Marques Colston (#20 WR)
7. James Starks (#41 RB)
8. Brandon Pettigrew (#9 TE)
9. Doug Martin (#13 RB)
10. Pittsburgh D (#10 D)
11. Malcolm Floyd (#53)
12. Ryan Fitzpatrick (#17 QB)
13. David Akers (#5 K)
14. Nate Washington
15. Brandon Jacobs

Round One:
Can't believe Rice slid. McCoy went 2nd Foster 3rd. A Rodg went first overall…must have been a cheesehead fan.

Round Two:
Definitely wasn't thinking quarterback here, but with Rodgers, Brady and Brees gone, I cant pass up Stafford's upside with the offense they have…as long as they stop getting arrested.

Round Three:
Totally psyched to get a top five receiver here. Jennings is a beast and I feel bigger things this season. Rodgers stats won't diminish, but I can't see Jordy Nelson being as big of a factor as a season ago.

Round Four:
Found my first rookie in Trent Richardson. We've got him ranked 8th overall in our pre-season cheat sheet. I get him in the fourth round. Will he put up Adrian Peterson rookie numbers? Probably not, but with Brad Childress and his "kick ass" offense embedded in Cleveland, I like what the rook might do.

Round Five:
I'm not a Dez Bryant guy, and Victor Cruz was sniped the pick before mine, I went with the Cowboy, but thought hard about DeSean Jackson.

Round Six:
As nervous as I was getting about my receiver depth, being able to get Marques Coltson here calmed them a bit. Not expecting big TD numbers out of him, but the Saints aren't going to suddenly stop throwing the football.

Round Seven:
I have no idea what to expect with the Packer running game. They may drop back and throw every down in Green Bay. All I know is that James Starks has been named the top dog in the backfield. What does that give me or mean? Absolutely nothing.

Round Eight:
Needed a tight end and grabbed Brandon Pettigrew here. Nothing spectacular, but he'll do the trick.

Round Nine:
Snatched my second rookie in round nine when I took Tampa Bay runner Doug Martin. Liked the upside this late. The other runners that went after him were Jonathan Steward and Donald Brown.

Rounds 10-15:
Steelers Defense, David Akers and some depth rounded out the 10th-15th rounds.

Overall I feel okay with how my draft broke down. Excited about the rookies I selected. Would look hard to deal for a better number two receiver. After my top running back, I am putting a ton of hope on rookies or guys that haven't been the guy.

Draft Grade: B
