After their deflating season-ending loss last week, I’m a little worried
that the Chargers will come out flat in this game. Meanwhile, their
opponent, Oakland is playing for the division title and a trip to the
playoffs. So all of the motivation goes to the Raiders side. But the NFL
is funny. Every year in week 17, teams that desperately need a win
end up losing to teams that have been out of it for week or months.
The Oakland secondary is awful, and has been all year. Rivers could
easily end up just playing pitch and catch with Vincent Jackson for the
last time. If he’s up for a big game, the Raiders could easily
accommodate him.
