A big game in week 17, when most sane leagues aren’t playing,
wouldn’t salvage a disappointing season for Michael Vick, but at this
point, we’d take it. And, there’s a decent chance that it’ll work out that
way. For one thing, the Redskins secondary remains banged-up, and
fading. Over the past six games, they’ve allowed 12 quarterback
touchdowns. One of those was a rushing touchdown, to Joe Webb last
week. They also allowed quarterback rushing touchdowns on two
other occasions this year. And, twice, opposing quarterbacks have
rushed for more than 50 yards, including by Vick in the earlier
matchup. You may recall Vick pounding the Redskins last year on
Monday night football, with six touchdowns. He can’t repeat that, but
current trends suggest a solid outing.
